Community and cultural events

Ticketing for every community and cultural event

To sell tickets for a community or cultural event, create an event page on EntryTicket, connect your group's Stripe account and share the link in WhatsApp. Buyers pay by card and get a QR ticket on WhatsApp and email. Free events cost nothing; paid tickets are 49p each with no VAT added, plus Stripe's fee.

Create your community event

Built for organisers from every community

EntryTicket is for all UK organisers. It works for:

  • South Asian, African, Caribbean, Chinese and Eastern European cultural associations
  • Faith groups, churches, mosques, temples and gurdwaras
  • Charities and fundraising committees
  • Schools, PTAs and alumni groups
  • Sports clubs and members’ clubs
  • Village halls, residents’ associations and local societies

Stop running ticket sales on forms and bank transfers

Online forms plus bank transfers mean matching payments by hand, chasing people who said they would pay, and a door queue built around a printed spreadsheet. With an event page, every ticket is paid for when it is booked, and the guest list builds itself.

Festival and celebration calendar

Diwali

Diwali nights, dinners and dance shows usually fall in October or November. Open sales early and share the link in your community groups.

Eid

Eid dinners, family days and bazaars. Free community events cost £0, and paid tickets can include a family ticket type.

Lunar New Year

Banquets, lion dances and performances in January or February. Tickets go out by WhatsApp and email.

Christmas

School fairs, carol concerts, pantomimes and Christmas parties. Volunteers can scan tickets on their own phones.

Garba and dandiya nights run over several evenings. Set up one ticket type per night so the door team knows who is expected.

And more

Vaisakhi, Pongal, Hanukkah, Black History Month, Independence Day celebrations, Burns Night, club dinners and summer fetes all work the same way.

What volunteers need

  • Simple setup. An event page with your own link, so you do not need a website.
  • WhatsApp sharing. Post the link in groups; tickets arrive back in WhatsApp and email.
  • Phone check-in. Volunteers scan QR tickets on their phones or check guests in by name.

Free and paid community events

Free events cost £0. For paid events the Starter plan is 49p per ticket, no VAT added, with no monthly fee, plus Stripe's card fee. You can absorb the 49p or pass it on to buyers.

Charities and faith organisations

Registered charities, temples, churches, mosques and other places of worship, CICs and school PTAs can request the charity rate of 25p per ticket, no VAT added, plus Stripe fees, with no monthly fee. See charity ticketing.

Checklist: running a ticketed community event

  1. Create the event page: Add the date, venue, ticket types (for example adult, child, family) and a picture.
  2. Connect your group's Stripe account: Ticket money is paid out to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on its usual schedule. Use your group's account, not a volunteer's personal one.
  3. Share the link: Post it in WhatsApp groups, on social media and in newsletters.
  4. Prepare the door: Open the scanner on each volunteer’s phone before doors and charge the phones.
  5. Scan guests in: Scan QR tickets at the door, or search for a guest by name; the check-in page shows how many people are checked in.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sell tickets for a Diwali, Eid or Lunar New Year event?

Create an event page on EntryTicket, connect your Stripe account and share the link in your groups. Buyers pay by card and receive a QR ticket on WhatsApp and email.

Is EntryTicket only for certain communities?

No. EntryTicket is for all UK organisers: cultural associations, faith groups, charities, schools and PTAs, sports clubs and local societies.

Can I replace online forms and bank transfers?

Yes. Buyers pay by card when they book, so every ticket is paid for and the guest list builds itself.

Is it free for free events?

Yes. Free events cost £0.

Can volunteers scan tickets on their phones?

Yes. Any phone can scan QR tickets with the check-in scanner.

What if the hall has no signal?

The scanner checks tickets online, so it needs mobile data or Wi-Fi. Find a spot with signal near the door or use the venue Wi-Fi, and download the attendee list as a PDF beforehand as a backup.

Do we need a website?

No. Every event gets its own event page and link.

Is there a charity rate?

Registered charities, temples, churches, mosques and other places of worship, CICs and school PTAs can request 25p per ticket, no VAT added, plus Stripe fees, with no monthly fee.
